When you use Min, your bookmarks and settings stay in your browser. This policy explains what Min processes, when it connects to outside services, and the choices you have.
Information Min handles
Min accesses your bookmarks so you can view, search, and manage them from your new tab page. Your bookmarks and browsing data are not sent to a server operated by Min.
Your settings, selected city, and cached weather are stored locally in Chrome. Min only sends information outside your browser when you choose to use weather or allow usage analytics, as described below.
Why Min uses Chrome permissions
Min uses each permission only for the feature described below:
bookmarks: Lets you show, search, add, edit, remove, and reorder Chrome bookmarks.favicon: Lets you recognize bookmarks by showing each site's icon.fontSettings: Lets you choose from fonts available in your browser.search: Lets you search with your selected search provider when your query is not a bookmark or web address.storage: Keeps your new tab preferences, selected city, and cached weather in Chrome.geolocation: Gets your coordinates only when you ask Min to show weather for your current location.
Weather is optional
When you search for a city, Min sends the search text to Open-Meteo. When you use your current location, Min sends your coordinates to BigDataCloud to find your city and to Open-Meteo to retrieve the weather.
These services handle that information under their own privacy policies. Min does not use it for any other purpose.
Usage analytics is your choice
Min asks before collecting usage analytics. Nothing is sent to PostHog unless you choose to allow it.
If you opt in, Min sends limited usage information to PostHog, including a randomly generated identifier, the extension version, browser and operating system information, language, screen size, network information such as your IP address, and the names of features you use.
Min does not send your bookmarks, bookmark titles, URLs, search queries, location, or weather data for analytics.
Your privacy controls
You can turn usage analytics on or off at any time in Min → Settings → General → Privacy. Turning it off stops future analytics collection.
To request deletion of previously collected analytics data, open the same Privacy screen, copy your Analytics ID, and email it to [email protected]. Min will delete the analytics data associated with that ID unless it must be retained for legal reasons.
You can manage location access in Chrome and use weather by searching for a city instead. You can remove locally stored settings and weather data by clearing Min's data or uninstalling the extension.
How Min shares information
Min only shares information with Open-Meteo, BigDataCloud, and PostHog for the features described in this policy. Min does not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Chrome Web Store requirements
Min uses information from Chrome extension APIs only to provide the features described in this policy. This use complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
